Cough Cough

There is a dying dog caught in my throat and with my close talking, chatter box ways I have managed to infect both Melody and Maggie. I didn't want to leave them out it was only fair. In our room we are a symphony of barks and yelps. I am working on my typical remedy of liquid, tea, vitimins, excersise, and sleep which has me sick but in half the time.

Tonight we have decided to go on an Edinburgh ghost tour. Usually I think those things are pretty dumb but Edinburgh has some lagit haunting credentials. Grass market, steps away from our hostel, is the place where executions of Irish thugs (holler back) used to take place. Also grass market was where the notorious "body snatchers" of Edinburgh used to lure young travelers back to their house before killing them in their sleep and selling their bodies to medical schools.

Best of all there are these underground vaults undernear the old part of the city. During the black plague they didn't know how you got it so they decided to scrap old cootie Edinburgh and build a newer city over it. In 1995 while doing road work they discovered this underground city- perfectly intact and now it is ye olde overpriced tourist attraction for the unattractive and fashionabley challenged ghost story loving alike. There is even a restraunt that claims, "Sitting at tables named after the 7 deadly sins, your guests will indulge in sweetmeats and claret. When commanded, they will also take part in Sir Roger’s games. Great prizes await the worthy winners. Horrible tortures await the worthless losers."

Don't worry- we're not doing that. We don't have enough money to be that lame. Best case scenerio is that we go on a 5 pd. tour and find a way to break off from it and do some real exploring of our own. Maybe find ye olde underground flat.

Dear Bren,
Take care of yourself. I love your blog. thank goodness that you're in Edinburgh at a time when they don't murder travelers and take their bodies. Your hot tea/homeopathic remedies usually work, but travel is stressful and you have to be careful. Love, Ma.

That sounds really cool, I would do that tour if I were you (but I also did the Sherlock Homes tour when I was in London so....).

People -- who shall remain namesless -- have been criticizing my comments, saying that they are too cautious and have too many lines like "two layers of socks worn at once will keep your toes toasty." So, I am going to ramp up the coolness factor of my comments: Brenna, you rock. But keep up drinking tea and taking your vitamins. Love, Mom
